Tuesday, October 21st, 2003 - Well, I bit the bullet and went to see the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and you know what? I loved it! This is how remakes should be done... It wasn't a shot for shot ripoff like that bastardized (and colorized) Psycho remake from a few years back and it wasn't some crappy re-visualization of the movie ala the steaming pile that was Will Smith's Wild Wild West.

It honored the original, yet changed it around just enough to make it new and interesting. The film was well shot, well directed and was the closest thing to scary and disturbing I've seen in theatres in more than ten years. It's by no means a perfect film. I actually have a few complaints about it, but they're so minor that they're not even worth mentioning (so why did I mention it?). If you're a horror fan by any stretch of the imagination, you should go see this film.

(P.S. Jessica Biel is totally hot and that doesn't hurt, either.)

Friday, October 17th, 2003 - Rumors of my death have been exaggerated. I live...barely. Been getting my ass kicked at work and on the home front so I haven't had a whole lot of time to write or to update this page. With any luck things will settle down soon and I'll be able to get back into the swing of things.

I have a great story about buying appliances at Sears. Hopefully I'll have time to spin the yarn...
