Sunday, May 21st, 2006 - Busy, busy, busy! That's how the past few months have been for me. Thus, the lack of updates...

Not a whole lot going on right now other than work. I'm looking into maybe getting DirecTV and NFL Sunday Ticket so I can watch football games that don't involve the Cowboys or the Texans. If this is going to be Brett Favre's last year, I want to make sure I get to see every game. And hey! It's an excuse to have a tailgating party on my patio every Sunday. That works. =)

Now that I've finished up Buffy the Vampire Slayer on DVD, I've started watching Angel. It's pretty good so far, even though I'm only about 1/2 way through Season 1. With Heidi's new job being 2nd shift, it's kind of hard to watch more than an episode a night. It's all good, though. So far they've been worth the wait.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sunday, April 30th, 2006 - "How we deal with death...is at least as important as how we deal with life, wouldn't you say?"

It was eight years ago on April 23rd that my father died from complications from a stroke and two years ago on April 26th that my mother died from the Glioblastoma Multiformae brain tumor in her head. So, as you see, the aforementioned words of Admiral James T. Kirk in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan are particularly haunting to me this week. Why, you ask? Because I haven't really "dealt with death."

I completely forgot both anniversaries. I've been so wrapped up in my own up and down life that I was completely oblivious to the infamous dates. It was only upon opening my e-mail on the morning of the 26th that I saw messages from my sisters and my stepfather that I knew what was going on. Does that make me a bad person? I don't know...

For me, I think it's a case of celebrating a person's life, not their death. I remember my mother at my high school graduation and again when I finished college. I remember my mom hiding Easter eggs for all of the grand kids and doing my laundry when I came home on the weekends. I remember my father teaching me to ride a bike. I remember watching Mike Tyson fall to Buster Douglas on HBO with dad and talking about how the Packers were going to do week in and week out. Those memories and so many more are in my head every day. Those are the things I choose to remember.

The 23rd and the 26th are just two random dates on the calendar, right? I'm not so sure. But that's what I keep telling myself.

Mom...Dad...I love you and miss you. Not just on these two days...but EVERY day. Thank you for helping to make me into the man I am today (Sci-Fi geek or not!).

Peace...

Sunday, April 16th, 2006 - Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter! It's a bit strange for me... It's the first Easter I can remember that I didn't spend with my family. My version of the Easter ham this year is an Oscar Mayer pressed ham sandwich (with cheese). Ah, well... Guess it'll have to do. =)

One of the biggest adjustments I've had to make in moving down to Texas is my limited access to Wisconsin sports. The Wisconsin Badgers Men's Hockey Team won the National Championship recently and I did manage to catch that since it was on ESPN. Go Badgers!

The Milwaukee Brewers are in the same division as the Houston Astros, so I'll get to catch a few Brewers games on TV next week and some later on in the season. In the meantime, I've been watching the Brewers on ESPN's Internet GameCast (I'm actually following the Brewers/Mets game right now) , but that's about as close as I can get! A shame, too. The Brewers have a lot of talent this year. Much more than they've had for the past 20 years I've been watching them, anyway.

The Green Bay Packers have three Nationally televised games this year, but that will be the extent of my football viewing. I think I'm going to have to invest in satellite radio or something. Texans games and Cowboys games just don't do it for me. But hey...at least I'll be able to watch the NFL Draft at the end of the month!

I continue spending much of my free time watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer on DVD. I'm about half way through Season 6 now, so I've only got a season and a half left. Very, very good stuff... The show just keeps getting better. I can't wait to see what the final 30 episodes bring... Maybe then I can get back to the stack of Netflix movies that have been collecting dust on my shelf for the past month. =)

Well, that's probably enough for today... Thanks for stopping by! More soon...

Saturday, March 18th, 2006 - I guess it's been a while since my last update. I've been really busy with the new position at Pi Studios, so updating Kenn's World has kind of fallen off to the side. If you're one of the ten people who visit regularly, I offer my apologies. =)

First off, I want to wish a Happy Birthday to my sister Carmen, my sister Lee Ann and my brother P.J. who all celebrate birthdays this month. I hope you all got your cards! (Carmen, yours got returned by the USPS. Doh!)

I am attending the Game Developer's Conference for the first time ever next week. That should be fun... I've never been to San Jose before, so at least I'll be seeing a new place. Should be a good time.

I updated my Writing Page to fix the broken links. For all of the Game Developer articles, I linked to The Internet Archive Wayback Machine copies. A very useful tool, indeed...

I've also updated the My Job section of the website as well, detailing my games industry work over the years and updating my current employment with Pi. Yay!

Thanks for visiting...
