Wednesday, August 27th, 2003 - Well, both of my Fantasy Football teams have been drafted and are awaiting the start of the regular season. I'm quite happy with both teams this year, though my Yahoo! league team has already been bitten by the injury bug. Hopefully that will stop biting my team soon... *knocks on wood*

Not much going on right now, so this'll be a short update. Hopefully I'll have more to say soon. In the meantime, if you haven't read Why I Don't Play Chess Anymore I suggest you give it a look. It's worth a laugh. Take care, all...

Friday, August 22nd, 2003 - Happy Friday, everyone! Not much going on, I guess, other than work, work and more work...

I drafted my first Fantasy Football team of the year last night in a Yahoo! league consisting of members of The Red Zone NFL website forums. My team turned out to be pretty good, but had I not made a mistake in the 4th round, it could have been REALLY good. Ah well... If injuries set in (as they inevitably do), I should be set for depth. Now I've got the Raven Fantasy Football League Draft on Sunday... That's the one I really look forward to every year.

Looks like I'll probably be going to see Freddy vs. Jason again next week. There are a bunch of people here who haven't seen it yet and I'm more than happy to see it again. =)

Tuesday, August 19th, 2003 - Well, Freddy vs. Jason was absolutely AWESOME!!!! So awesome, in fact, that I plan to go see it again this week (or maybe next week). I had a smile on my face from the very beginning and just had a rolicking good time throughout. It was a lot like watching WWE Smackdown! in that the battle between Freddy and Jason was just so over the top.

The movie really did "right" by the fans. Tons of gore, brutal killings, nudity, cheesy dialogue, hot women, swearing, the whole nine yards... Thumbs up to one of the most enjoyable films I've seen in years! I can't wait until it comes out on DVD.

Now if only I can land the screenwriting gig for Freddy vs. Jason vs. Michael Meyers. Life would be complete...

Wednesday, August 13th, 2003 - I've added Gene Simmons's Blood Recipe to my Musings page. Why? Why not... I dug it up for a friend working on an independent film project. I figured everyone should know how they, too, can spit blood all year round.

Peacemakers is on USA tonight at 9:00pm CST! I recommend catching it if you can...

Only two more days until Freddy vs. Jason! I can't wait!

Wednesday, August 6th, 2003 - Finished my Dead Zone screenplay first draft and fired it off to some people for readings. So far the response has been positive. I hope to start on draft #2 shortly. Speaking of USA Network TV shows, I highly recommend catching "Peacemakers" if you can swing it on Wednesday night. Very, very cool...

I've added links to the Save Lambeau Field Petition which aims to prevent the Packers from playing in "Velveeta Stadium" and the Original Trilogy Petition aimed at securing the release oif the original Star Wars Trilogy on DVD. What can I say? I feel like an activist today. Permanent links are posted on the Links page.

I've also added "Bling, Bling" to my WTF? page after seeing it on the cover of People this week. I think I'm going to cancel my subscription.

My wife and I are off to San Antonio from Thursday until Monday to see her Grandfather who turns 90 years old this weekend. Should be a lot of fun...

Friday, August 1st, 2003 - Football season is upon us! Thank God... Sometimes NFL Football is the only thing that keeps me sane. Fall is just around the corner!

Not much time for updates lately, obviously... The latest MS security flaw and a dozen new workstations that need deploying have been keeping me busy, among other things.

I'm still plugging away on my Dead Zone screenplay. I've got 32 pages done so far and about 20 to go before draft #1 is finished. Hopefully I can crank it out in the next week.
