NEWS

Monday, April 28th, 2003 - Spent the weekend raking leaves, taking care of my lawn and moving furniture. Man, oh man, am I out of shape. I haven't been in this much pain since I don't know when.

The Milwaukee Bucks managed to pull even with the Nets, though it was sheer luck. How they blew a fifteen point lead to end up in overtime I don't know. They should be up 3-1 right now. I guess 2-2 isn't the end of the world.

The Green Bay Packers' draft was...interesting, I guess. For all of that wheeling and dealing, I hope at least one of those guys ends up making something of himself.

I saw Identity on Friday night and loved it! I would highly recommend it. This movie inspired me from a screenwriting perspective. I can't wait to go on vacation this week and write write write!

Friday, April 25th, 2003 - It looks as though my web host may be going out of business, so if you stop by and the site is down, that's why. Oh joy...

A word of advice to the Dixie Chicks... Don't ever let Natalie Maines speak for the whole group. In fact, don't let her talk to the press ever again. Her "attempt" to clear up the whole "I'm embarrassed about President Bush being from our home state" controversy with Diane Sawyer last night probably just made matters worse. Just drop it and it will go away. The more you say, the more you're going to piss people off. Oh...and you're dumb.

On the work front I'm trying to squeeze a month's worth of work into a week before I go on vacation. Just like every year... I honestly don't know what the point of vacation is. In order to "relax" for a week, I have to bust my ass for two weeks before to get ahead and two weeks afterward to catch up. Sounds relaxing, eh? *sigh*

I have a new candidate for "Worst...Movie...Evar" after watching the last half hour of Dark Asylum last night. Paulina Porizkova, Larry Drake and Judd Nelson star in this unintentional laugher about a psychologist who gets "accidently trapped" (I kid you not) in an abandoned (I kid you not) mental institution. The end sequence involving a pipe bomb, a city gas line and a pair of handcuffs alone makes this worth watching. You'll be horrified...but not in a "good" way.

The Milwaukee Bucks pissed away a golden opportunity last night against the New Jersey Nets. After tieing the game after being down 19, two missed free throws gave the Bucks the chance at the very LEAST to send the game to overtime. Instead, they fail to rebound under their own basket after a missed free throw, the ball is kicked out and the winning basked it scored by Rodney Rogers...the guy who missed the free throw just moments before. Again...words fail me.

Going to see Identity tonight... Expect a full report on Monday.

Monday, April 21st, 2003 - I'm still quite pissed off that I lost my whole news page on Friday. I kept getting some crappy FTP error and eventually my local copy and net copy of the News page was corrupted. I wasn't too happy about that. I've reconstructed the gist of April, though much is missing, including the e-mail from the jerkoff who called Michael Moore a hero after his Oscar debacle. A shame... Ah well. I'll make a better effort to back things up in the future. Hopefully.

I watched the return of Hunter this weekend and wasn't disappointed in the slightest. Once again Hunter and McCall kill two bad guys and fail to bring even one guy in for trial. Classic stuff... If you're curious about Hunter at all, visit http://www.freddryer.com and read all about "the man."

I'm really excited to see Identity this coming weekend. That's one of the few movies I'm really looking forward to in the coming months. It should be tres coolio... Click on the movie poster image below to go to the official website.

Thanks for visiting!

Friday, April 18th, 2003 - I'm going to take a half day today to get a head start on my weekend. Hopefully I'll get some writing done today, then I'm going golfing and visiting my wife's family tomorrow, then it's off to my family's place for Easter Sunday. Wheeeee... I thought weekends were supposed to be relaxing? Heh...

Have a great weekend!

This just in: Gahhh! I lost my whole news page. My updates are missing for the entire month of April. Looks like I need to live by the addage "save early, save often" rather than just talking about it. Shit...

Monday, April 14th, 2003 - It's good to see Hunter back on television after all these years. I watched the man's triumphant return to television this weekend in Hunter: Back In Force. Heh... This was one of my favorite shows as a kid and I'm looking forward to the series return next week. The best part? Hunter kills more bad guys than he ever puts in jail. Apparently internal affairs and police brutality don't exist in Hunter's world. What do you expect from a Frank Lupo production?
Friday, April 11th, 2003 - The latest edition of GameSpy's Gaming University Column has been posted, featuring answers by yours truly. Check it out here.
Monday, April 7th, 2003 - I saw The Core over the weekend and was pretty well unimpressed. As an apocalypse film, I felt it paled in comparison to Armageddon.
Friday, April 4th, 2003 - I've archived all of March 2003's news to clean up the page a bit and to ensure that it loads faster.
Tuesday, April 1st, 2003 - Happy birthday to my wonderful wife Michele who turns...one year older this year. :-)
